The feed for a high speed nut formet machine has a mechanism mounted on the machine and attached to a feeding plate(51) capable of advancing in a linear fashion & returning in a motion in which the feeding plate is removed from a guide path. The feeding plate has indentations for holding & conveying the nut blanks formed along the guide path. The path is formed by guide plates between successive nut blank forming dies(31,32,33) due to the motion of the mechanism attached to the feeding plate, by causing the indentations to mesh with the blanks and to convey the blanks forward in a linear fashion.
