Quinolines of the general formula:- <IMAGE> wherein R1 is a hydrogen atom or an alkyl or alkenyl radical containing up to 4 carbon atoms, R2 is a halogen atom, a hydroxyl group, an alkoxy radical containing up to 6 carbon atoms or an acyloxy radical containing up to 5 carbon atoms, which can be substituted by halogen, R3 is a hydrogen atom or an alkyl radical containing up to 10 carbon atoms, R4 is a phenyl or naphthyl radical optionally substituted by halogen, alkoxy, aryloxy, alkylthio, alkyl, aryl, acyl or carbalkoxy and X is an oxygen or sulphur atom, are active against coccidiossis. Ethyl 4-hydroxy-7-(4'-N,N- dimethylanilinoxymethyl)-6-ethyl quinoline-3-carboxylate is also claimed. |
