The arrangement is intended for re-machining running wheels (1) of a crane or a cable pulley or the like which are worn due to rail (10) or cable contact in order to restore the original profile. Each wheel has sufficient material in its peripheral area and is rotatably carried in a bearing support (2). A cutting tool (3) or grinding disc is carried by this support and is radially and axially movable relative thereto, whilst a drive unit (4) is provided on the support (2) to rotate the wheel or pulley whilst it is out of contact with the rail or cable.
