NEW MATERIAL:The titled compound of formula I (R is H, lower alkyl, etc.; R2 is H or ester residue; Hs at the 6- and 7-positions are in the cis-relation) and a salt thereof. EXAMPLE:( 4S,6R,7S )-7-Amino-4-hydroxy-1-azabicyclo[ 4,2,0 ]-oct-2-en-8-one-2- carboxylic acid. USE:An anti microbial agent having a stronger antimicrobial activity than the optically inactive isomer (dl-form)coirresponding to the acyl derivative. PROCESS:A compound of formula II (R is substituted or unsubstituted unsaturated 6-membered carbon ring, etc.; X is H, amino, etc.) is deacylated optically and selectively to give the compound of formula I. A mnicroorganism, a cultivated substance thereof and/or an enzyme produced by said microorganism may be used for the deacylation. A microorganism belonging to the genuses Aeromonas, Achromobacter, etc. may be cited as the microorganism. |
