EXAMPLE:1-Phenyl-3-benzyloxy-4-(3,4-dimethoxyphenyl)azetidin-2-one. USE:A raw material for the preparation of DOPA useful as a remedy for Perkinson's disease. PROCESS:The compound of formula I is prepared by, e.g. reacting a Schiff base of formula II with a compound of formula III in the presence of a tert-amine such as triethylamine in a solvent such as benzene at -78-+100 deg.C. |
