PURPOSE:To perform the easy work of welding flanges of a case and prevent the leak of exhaust gas, by providing a gasket member having lip parts elastically protruded onthe peripheral surface of a monolithic catalyzer. CONSTITUTION:A gasket member 10 is wound on the peripheral surface of a monolithic catalyzer 2 to form elastically protruded lip parts 12, 14. The monolithic catalyzer 2 and the gasket member 10 are arranged in a lower case body 22, while an upper case body 20 is arranged from their top to mutually press and weld flanges 24, 26. Here the elastically protruded lip parts 12, 14 causes the gasket member 10 to be elastically deformed in a direction of the peripheral surface 16 of the monolithic catalyzer 2 never to be bitten by the flanges 24, 26. While the gasket member 10 can prevent the flow of exhaust gas in a space between the monolithic catalyzer 2 and case 18. |
