1444460 Dispensing liquids JET SPRAY COOLER Inc 27 Nov 1974 [25 April 1974] 51386/74 Heading A4T A machine for dispensing a beverage, e.g. coffee, or hot water comprises a housing, a hot-water tank 36, a hopper 70 for a beverage powder concentrate supply, a mixing assembly 54 for receiving the concentrate and hot water and a heated block 100 adjacent a concentrate discharge passage 106 for preventing the concentrate from becoming damp. A control circuit, Fig. 5 (not shown), includes pushbuttons (22, 24, 26) which respectively provide a continuous flow of coffee etc., from the machine, a continuous flow of hot water, or a single serving of coffee &c., the latter serving being limited by a timer motor (176). During dispensing, a solenoid valve 46 is held open, allowing water from a source under pressure to enter through an adjustable flow control valve 183 and displace hot water from the tank 36 through a duct 52 arranged to lead it into the mixing assembly in vortex fashion. Concentrate, when supplied, is metered by an auger 74 driven by a motor 84, the rate of supply being adjusted by turning a sleeve 110 about its axis to alter the effective size of an opening 114. The block 100 is heated by a hot air current which flows through a tube 130 having a heater 134 by convection. |
