PURPOSE:To prevent the electric discharge at a deflecting electrode and secure stable printing operation by providing a detecting electrode for detecting a wetting due to the sticking of ink between an ink-jet head and recording paper. CONSTITUTION:The detecting electrode 14 forms conductive patterns 13 at optional intervals on an insulated base plate 12, connects each of the conductive patterns 13 with the power source side and the output side alternately and it set at the position liable to get wet due to the scattered ink situated between the ink jet and the recording paper. When the scattered ink sticks to the pattern 13a on the power source side and the pattern 13b on the output side, stretching over both sides, electric current flows between both patterns 13a and 13b, and the voltage between terminals of a resistor R generated by the current rises simultaneously with the sticking of the scattered ink, whereby the wetting due to the sticking of the ink can be detected. |
