PURPOSE:To obtain an aqueous lubricant for the plastic processing of metals, having good handleability and excellent capability of providing better surface gloss to processed product without generating corrosive gases, by dispersing a specific lubricant component, sodium silicate, and a surfactant in water. CONSTITUTION:Water is dispersed with 0.2-30wt% a lubricant component (A) selected from tetrafluoroethylenic polymers with comparatively small molecular weights and/or the metal salts of carboxylic acids, e.g., lithium soap, potassium soap, etc., 0.2-10wt% a sodium silicate (B) of the formula Na2O.nSiO2.xH2O, and 0.05-10wt% a surfactant (C), e.g., sulfated oil, sugar fatty acid esters, etc. EFFECT:The lubricant enables metals to be processed to a highly lubricated state and also the life of tools and the speed of processing to be greatly increased. |
