A drainer for sand collected in a sand trap 6 in a purification plant, comprising a trough 1 placed close to the sand trap and, between the sand trap and the lower part of the trough, a suction and inlet pipe 10 provided with a pump 9, which pipe continues into the trough as a vertical perforated drainpipe 12 which at the bottom has a reflux valve opening towards the drainpipe and having an incomplete valve action, in addition to which in the upper part of the trough there are edge drains present for water separation, which edge drains are connected up to a return discharge pipe 7, which conducts the water to the sand trap, and to an outlet for the drained sand collected in the trough, which outlet can be closed off in the lower part of the trough 1 by means of a valve 2. The acquired effect is that the greatest part of the water contained in the sand can be separated before the sand is removed. <IMAGE> |
