PURPOSE:To alleviate the irregularity of a current path in the Hall element and to enhance the performance of the element by forming a low resistance region for controlling equipotential surface on the active layer surface in the vicinity of an input electrode. CONSTITUTION:Regions 5, 5' for controlling the current path or equipotential surface of the input terminals 1, 2 and the output terminals 3, 4 of the Hall element are formed of ohmic electrode material similar to the electrodes 1-4 of the Hall element. The irregularity of the current path caused by the current concentration in the vicinity of the electrodes 1, 2 is alleviated by the regions 5, 5' between the input electrodes 1 and 2 of the Hall element when a control current is flowed between the electrodes 1 and 2, unbalanced voltage is reduced, and is set to a value meeting the control current value. |
