PURPOSE:To obtain a lubricant for the hot rolling of steel materials, having excellent waste water treatability and excellent lubricity and containing no oils, by dispersing a specific precipitated CaCO3 into water. CONSTITUTION:Quick lime obtained by roasting lime stone is reacted with water to slaked lime and the slaked lime is dispersed in water to obtain a lime milk. Then, CO2 is blown into the lime milk at 20-0 deg.C, and when the pH of the lime milk reaches 10.0-12.0, the supply of CO2 is stopped and a precipitated CaCO3 of a double salt-type fibrous structure with residual OH groups is obtained. Then, the precipitated CaCO3 is dispersed in water in a concentration of 0.1-50%. EFFECT:The lubricant has a higher adhesiveness to the surface of metals, forms a strong film, and exhibits excellent lubricity. |
