Electrode comprising a metal base (1) and a layer (3) with high secondary emission coefficient, made from an alkaline compound of antimony, notable in that it also comprises an intermediate layer (2) acting as a barrier layer, made from a material selected from the group formed by rhodium, ruthenium, molybdenum, iridium, rhenium, tungsten and palladium. These various layers are preferably deposited electrolytically. These secondary emission electrodes find application in photomultiplier tubes. Application: scintillation measurement, spectrophotometry.

|
