Tyre claw for snow - has claws bent over tread pivoted on plate on wheel and grip springs

The claws are fitted to car wheels (5) to grip on snow or ice. The assembly is a combination of a plate carrying claws and housings for them. The claws (2) are bent and cover the tyre tread. There are return springs and a closing cheek which pivots and is held fixed in the working position by bolts and nuts. The cheek fits the driven wheels in different ways, according to the vehicle. The claws are stapled to the return springs to stay against the wheel when it turns.
