While on the electrode 9 a photoconductor 4 is similarly coated in an island-shape at a face-to-face position to the resistor layer 10 to form a variable resistor RPC in the direction of its respective thickness. While at a face-to-face position to the base plate 7 an insulation base plate 13 made of transparent glass is provided, and on its inner face the other electrodes of discharge, for instance, parallelly running electrodes Y to be anodes A extended in a direction of crossing on each electrode 12 corresponding to electrodes X1, X2, X3 in each row are coated by the method of printing or the like. In this way, a specific memory circuit is not required to be further provided and a memory function can be surely performed.
