PURPOSE:To make it possible to avoid dangers that recording paper is at an abnormal high temperature and light is emitted, eve if a jam phenomenon occurs, by limiting the number of times of the light emission of a flash lamp to the same recording paper at a fixing position, to a finite value. CONSTITUTION:In this flash fixing unit, the capacitor is charged in relation to recording operation and the charge accumulated in the capacitor is discharged at a certain time later to turn oh flash lamp 12a; and a toner image on recording paper is irradaited with a flash from this lamp 12a and the toner image is fused and fixed. Charge-discharge control circuit 20 sets the number of times of the light emission of the flash lamp 12a, count the number of times of the light emission of flash lamp 12a, and stops the discharge of the capacitor when the count value of the light emission number of times becomes equal to a set value. |
