PURPOSE:To decrease the release of heat energy in an oxygen concentration cell making use of combustion heat as a heat source by forming a porous layer of a small emissivity on its heat radiant surface. CONSTITUTION:An air side electrode 8, conductive thin layer 11 of oxygen ions, connection elecltrode 9 and exhaust gas side electrode 10 are consituted as predetermined on a porous ceramic substrate 7, which permits permeation of oxigen gas. A porous layer 12 of a small emissivity is provided on a heat emissive radiant surface of the porous ceramic substrate 7. Au-, Ag-, Pt- or ZnO-layer is preferred as afore-mentioned porous layer 12. Owing to the above construction, a functioning temperature can be acheived by applying only a small quantity of heat. |
