A compsn. which absorbs mechanical energy in the temp. range of -100 to 100 deg. C and at not more than 10 MPa, contains (a) 100 pts. wt. of a mixt. of (1) 1-98 pts. wt. of a methylphenyl-B siloxane polymer with viscosity 100,000- 50,000,000 mPa, (2) 1-98 pts. wt. of a methylphenyl siloxane polymer with viscosity 100,000-50,000,000 Mpa, (3) 1-50 pts. wt. of a methylphenyl silicone oil with viscosity 3-1000 mPa, (b) 0.01-10 pts. wt. of a fatty acid (salt), (c) 0.01-10 pts. wt. of an organic Sn salt, (d) 0.01-10 pts. wt. of a powdered lubricant, and (e) 1-1000 pts. wt. of a filler with specific surface not more than 200 sq. m/g. A compsn. for use at above 10 MPa contains (a), (d) 0.1-30 pts. wt. of powdered lubricant and (e) 10-1000 pts. wt. of the filler. The compsns. are used in springs and hydraulic vibration absorbers, in metallurgy, ship building, railway wagons, vehicles and aircraft. The compsns. can be used at between -100 and 300 deg. C. |
