Heating system with heat pump evaporator - uses solar or waste heat applied to evaporator to increase condenser output which heats working fluid

The heating system has its working fluid heated by a heat pump (7), the refrigerant fluid of which is heated by gratuitous heat in the form of waste heat or solar heat. The working fluid passes through room radiators (2) and is then divided so one part (5) is heated by the heat pump condenser (6) and the outer part (8) flows in contact with the heat pump evaporator (9) and absorbs the available waste heat or solar heat after the heat pump refrigerant has drawn out its heat requirements. Additional heating of the working fluid may be provided by diverting some or all the working fluid en route to the room radiators through a conventional heater (24).
