The stove is supported on a tube (1) which serves to bring in outside air. The air enters the bottom of the stove between two walls. The inner wall (2) holds the fire on a grate (3) below which is an ash pit (4). It is held from the outer wall (5) by ribs (6) which are parallel to the air flow in the gap between the walls. The air heated in the gap leaves by holes (7) in the outer wall which forms a ring round the flue (12). The flue rises from the inner chamber and is sealed to the outer wall.
