Moulded plastic horseshoes with a crown of teeth to inhibit lateral displacement have teeth with a horizontal shoulder near their tip to allow a pin to be driven conveniently through the tip at an angle into the hoof to secure the shoe firmly. The section beneath the shoulder may have a pre-fabricated hole drilled or moulded partly or completely through the section to guide the pin.
