The device taps a thin-walled vessel e.g.paint can, by puncturing the base, having a housing (7) and a mating piece (4,5,6) forming a quick-action sealed union between a discharge pipe (3) and the housing. A boss on the housing has an external taper thread (11) and a flange (8) with a suction opening (12). The latter is connected via a valve (13,14), spring-loaded shut, in the housing to an outlet towards the mating piece. A pin (5) on the latter opens the valve when connected up. The mating piece can be a tubular boss with an external thread, the pin being on its axis.
