Indication system for laboratory testing operations - using computer translating general requirements into detailed operational steps held in memory

A system of indication for operating procedures dependent on different requirements, e.g. for a central medical laboratory processing to load samples of patients for different test purposes, simplifies the sample preparation procedure for the operator. Mistakes are reduced and the sample throughput is increased. The system has input devices for identification of general processing specifications which are translated into procedural steps corresp. to partial specifications making up the general ones. The individual steps can be displayed serially or in parallel. The specifications may be placed on cards in a stack reader for processing by a computer which evaluates them during a special operating process, places their contents in memory, and can display them when required. The specifications are manually and mechanically readable.
