A process of image reproduction comprises bringing into adhesive contact with each other a support member 11 and a donor web member 32 while a liquid or condensate image 12 is between them, the donor member bearing a releasable film 33 thereon, and then separating the support member 11 and the donor member 32 to effect transfer of the releasable film 33 to the support member in areas devoid of the liquid or condensate image. The members 11 and 32 after separation form two imaged complementary articles. If both the film 33 and the member 32 are translucent or transparent both articles will in effect be complementary transparencies which may be optically projected prior to being rolled up &c. for storage purposes. Fig. 8 (not shown) shows a machine for effecting the process. The image may be applied to the support member 11 by the method shown in Specification 1,013,295, utilizing the steps up to but not including the development with particulate material. The image may also be applied by pressing a finger, which may, or may not, have been treated with an added oil, on to the member 11. |
