The roller drive for climbing obstacles has rotating dishes mounted on dual axes, inclined to each other. The dishes normally rotate about a main axis (1) along the flat. If an obstacle is reached the dishes are displaced about a secondary axis (2) to ride over the step. The dual axes provide a simple, low mass rotating support for invalid trolleys etc. to climb stairs. The upwards ride is smooth and without the sudden bumps due to the steps. The two axes are supported by the same suspension arm (4) with the end of the arm bent into a curve (11) to link the two axes.
