<p>The pump has a shaft (26) which carries a gear (9). The gear meshes with an idling gear (10) to produce a pumping action. Oil enters from an inlet connection (4) through a filter (6) and passages (5,7,8). It is discharged through an air venting valve (16) through one of two outlet connections (1,2). The connection not in use is plugged. A box (14) on the end of the pump can be altered in position. It puts either gear chamber (36,37) in communication with the inlet (4) and the other with the outlet (1,2). Adjustment of the box reverses the connections and thus allows the direction of rotation to be reversed.</p> |
