For easier electrical installations a table top duct (7) which can be closed by a detachable upper cover sections (9a,9b) runs on the top of the tabletop beam (2) wherein one end of the duct opens into a corner recess which is formed at the connecting area between the table leg beam (1) and the table top beam (2) and through which runs the electric cables. The fascia panel which closes the corner recess is designed as an angle connector (10) which is closed on the outside but open on the inside and whose side wall members (12,13) have at least one cable passage (21) which can if required be designed to be broken. The cable can be drawn out from the table rail (2) at any point along the upper longitudinal face merely by removing the cover section of the rail at this point, making corresponding incisions for the passage of the cable and then replacing the cover section.
