The device (2) is advanced in the pipeline and in the process cleans the pipeline (1) of in particular hard encrustations. Said device (2) has a drive part (3) subject to pressure, a centric connecting part (6) and a cleaning part (4, 5) on which cleaning elements interacting with a spring system are provided. The drive part (3) consists of a sleeve (9, 10) which is adapted to the cross-section of the pipe (1) to be cleaned and is mounted on the rear end of the tubular connecting part (6). The cleaning part (4, 5) is formed by flaps (18) which are arranged around the circumference of the connecting part (6), are curved backwards and inwards, are subject to the action of springs (22) pushing them outwards and have mounted on them outwardly directed and rearwardly curved pins (19). <IMAGE>
