Heating element with PTC honeycombed body - having specified current supply points allowing different powers to be obtained for same voltage input

The heating element consists of a honeycombed body made of PTC material based on a doped semiconducting titanate ceramic. The body has current supply points on its two opposite faces -- the holes in the honeycomb channels are not obstructed. The body consists of separate pipes of small diameter (0.5-5mm) and thin walls (0.2-2mm) and fused together by sintering with a ceramic of the same composition. At least one current supply point is divided into at least two areas (1,2) isolated from one another and each provided with a current supply element (3,4). The two areas may be interlaced comb structures or spirals or meanders.
