PURPOSE:To form a uniform oil film having no (or low) fluidity over the whole surface of a rolling bearing, e.g. by dipping the rolling bearing in a rust prevention oil composed of a low-boiling inert solvent, a rust-preventing additive, etc., and drying the oil. CONSTITUTION:A rolling bearing is dipped in or coated with a rust prevention oil composed mainly of (A) a low-boiling inert solvent (pref. having a boiling point of <=100 deg.C), e.g. trichlorofluoroethane, and (B) various rust preventing additives, refined mineral oil, petrolatum, or lubricating grease, or their mixture. A rust prevention oil film is formed to the surface of the rolling bearing by drying the oil attached to the bearing. The immersion, coating, and drying are carried out in one apparatus furnished with a pair of cooling jackets at the inlet and the outlet for the rolling bearing, and the evaporated slovent is recovered at the inlet and the outlet zones. EFFECT:There is no oil stain to the packaging paper nor stickiness of the oil film. The thickness and the hardness of the oil film can be freely adjusted. |
