PURPOSE:To obtain the titled compound useful as a synthetic intermediate for a germicide, an insecticide, etc. in high yield in a short time, by reacting an aromatic sulfinate with sulfur in the presence of an amine in a solvent. CONSTITUTION:An aromatic sulfinate is reacted with sulfur in the presence of an amine in a solvent, e.g. methanol, to give an aromatic thiosulfonate almost quantitatively. n-Butylamine, i-propylamine, etc. may be preferably used as the amine, and the amount is 5-100mol% based on the raw material sulfinate. The reaction temperature is preferably 30-50 deg.C, and the reaction time is about 15min-2hr. |
