The cage is built up of similar sections forming pockets in which the rollers are accommodated. The sections (B1) are secured to one or more rigid bars (C) extending for the entire length of the complete cage. These keep them aligned with each other in a straight line and make the cage rigid. The sections can be pressed together by one or more lengthwise tension bolts, acting against rigid end pieces of the cage. The sections can be arranged to engage together to keep in line, or can be secured to each other by intermediate pieces, typically dowels fitting in drillings. The bars can pass through drillings in the sections, and one of them can be of C-section, fitting in grooves in the cage sections and with the shanks sprung outwards.
|
