<p>The grips have a scissors action, each side comprising a curved arm (23) with a pivot formed by passing one arm through an eye in the other. The lower end of each arm is spiked and equipped with secondary spikes (24) and weights (26). The other ends (11) are linked by a chain (34) and an elastic cord (7), the centres of these being attached to a plate. A ring (18) fixed at the level of the pivot passes the fishing rod and line, and clips (14) on the arms keep the grips open. When passed over the fish, a pull on a line (3) releases the elastic cord and the clips and the grips close.</p> |
