PURPOSE:To improve the defective sealing and prevent the separation of the carbon film, and thereby enhance the preservation characteristics of a thin battery by providing a carbon layer on the surface of an iron sheet which is separated from a plated electrode. CONSTITUTION:A very-fine iron sheet 1 is obtained by subjecting an electrode to electrolytic iron-plating before the iron sheet 1 is separated from the plated electrode. A carbon film 2 is attached to a surface of the iron sheet 1, and this is used as a negative collector 3 and a positive collector 4. A negative body 5 is made of a thin zinc plate, which is electrically made in a contact with the carbon film 2 of the negative collector. A positive body 6 is made of a mixture of manganese dioxide and carbon black, which is made in contact with the carbon film 2 of the positive collector 4. The iron sheet 1 can be prevented from rusting either by plating it with tin, zinc, nickel or the like to form a corrosion-resisting film over the surface of the sheet 1, or by treating it with a chromate to form a corrosion-resisting film made of chromic acid over the surface of the iron sheet 1. Thus the separation of the carbon film from the sheet 1 can be obviated. |
