<p>PURPOSE:To provide the decorative plywood having rugged part with variable color-tone without deteriorating the pattern on elevated veneer by a method wherein a rugged metal plate is used to provide a hot-pressed pattern, a light-color coating material is applied to the whole surface, and the colored coating material applied on the elevated part is immediately scraped off. CONSTITUTION:The surface of a veneer 2 is polished with a sander 3, etc., is coated with a transparent heat-curable coating material 5' using a roll coater 4, etc., the surface is dried to form a coated layer 5 on the veneer. On the surface of the coated layer 5, placed is a metal plate 7 having a rugged pattern in which the depth of engraved pattern is about 1mm. and the area of elevated part 6 is relatively small. Then, the metal plate is pressed using hot presses 8, 8'. The whole area of the rugged area is applied with a relatively thin, transparent colored under-coating material 9 whose color is little different from the veneer 2. Immediately after coating, the colored undercoat 9 is scraped from the elevated parts and filled in the depressed pattern. When drying, solvent is volatilized from the colored undercoat 9 filled in the depressed pattern thereby forming corresponding depressed parts. In this manner, the decorative panel having differential color tone in the rugged pattern is obtained.</p> |
