PURPOSE:To prevent sintered edges, which include particules such as diamond particles of a band saw from falling off due to shocks, by constituting each sintered edge in such a manner that it is fit in the upper half portion of the cut groove between each two adjacent saw tooth edge mounting parts, and held by the adjacent side walls of the two adjacent saw tooth edge mounting parts. CONSTITUTION:An upper portion of a metallic belt-shaped plate 1 is cut into notches at an equal interval, thereby forming parts 2 for mounting saw tooth-shaped edges. Into the upper half portion of the cut groove 3 between each two adjacent mounting parts 2, a sintered edge 4 formed by pressure sintering a mixture of various metallic powder and abrasive powder is fit and fixed with silver solder to the adjacent side walls of the two adjacent mounting parts 2. Thus, below said edge 4, the lower half part of each cut groove 3 is exposed as it is. Where abrasive diamond is used, the resulting band saw may be used for grinding and cutting hard materials such as granite, marble, glass, super hard alloys, tile and the like. In this constitution, sintered edges can be prevented from falling off from their respective mounting parts due to shocks. |
