PURPOSE:To perform casting of two lines of billets and single casting of slab by halving each of driving side rolls and pressing side rolls, and constituting the divided driving side rolles so that they can be driven singly and in synchronization. CONSTITUTION:When casting billets, each of left and right rolls 1a, 1b is driven singly according to the velocity of drawing of cast billet and makes drawing straightening of a billet 16 that passes between upper rolls 2a, 2b and lower rolls 1a, 1b which operate in parallel according the thickness of cast billet. When casting a slab, drawing straightening of a slab 17 that passes between the upper rolls and lower rolls is performed by driving the lower rolls 1a and 1b in synchronization and operating them unifiedly. |
