<p>PURPOSE:To reduce the parts number of a disc brake and simplify its structure while enhancing its durability, by making bolts, which unit caliper members and also function as a reinforcement member, serve also as guide rods for the sliding motion of a clamping member. CONSTITUTION:Connector bolts 8 are provided in such a manner that they are located still outside the outer most extremities of friction pads 7, 10, which are substantially circular, and the distance l1 between their axial centers fulfills a relation l1<=l2 (l2 denotes the outer diameter of each of the pads 9, 10). The connector bolts 8 extend through their respective holes 14 formed through a bushing 13 which is in turn fixed a mounting member 12, so as to permit the connector bolts 8 to be able to slide together with the friction pad 7 only in the axial direction of a disc 9. Twisting force, which occurs between the clamping members consisting of caliper members 1, 6 and bolts 8 and the mounting member 12 by the force to be developed at the friction pad 7 upon applying the brake, can be reduced in magnitude by making in the drawing. Furthermore, abrupt sliding movement of the clamping member can be absorbed by suitably fitting a ring 16 made of an elastic material between both bolts 8 and also filling a viscous material 17 therebetween.</p> |
