PURPOSE:To measure the concentration of inorganic compound in water solution accurately in a short time by a method of near-infrared ray absorption spectrum wherein the product of the concentration of a sample and the thickness of the layer of the sample is set within a specified range and the effect of water is eliminated by using a filter having the same wavelength with that of the absorption spectrum of the water. CONSTITUTION:The concentration of the inorganic compound in water solution is expressed with g/cm<3>, while the thickness of the layer of the sample is expressed with cm. Within the range where the product of the concentration and thickness is 0.001-1.0g/cm<3> and according to the method of near-infrared ray absorption spectrum (700-2,500nm), the effect of water is eliminated either by using the filter having the same wavelength with that of the absorption spectrum of water or by fitting a canceller circuit to a measuring apparatus. In this way, the inorganic compound having a specified absorption wavelength in a near-infrared wavelength region and also having a specified peak in the absorption spectrum, even if it is a mixture, can be measured easily, continuously in a short time. It becomes also possible to incorporate the method in the process of manufacture by the unattended control. |
