Filter to purify cadaveric gases exhausted from a coffin to avoid excessive internal pressure build-up and danger of explosion. This filter is partic. suitable for metal coffins used for the transport by air of cadavers, i.e. when an excess internal pressure may be experienced due to a sudden loss of altitude. The filter is now provided with a non-return, reverse flow bypass so that a sharp rise in external pressure will occasion an immediate inflow of air to equalise internal and external pressures. Ther is now no danger of an implosion in these circumstances. The non-return valve is pref. an elastic sleeve over a perforated exhaust pipe. |
