Speed control system for slip ring motor - has tachogenerator and speed monitoring system connected to rectifier to control phase switch

The slip ring motor connected by a changeover switch to the three phase supply, is connected to a rectifier system with two sets of diodes connected by a choke coil for smoothing. This system is connected back to the supply for stepless speed control. The control system includes a nominal value device connected to a tachogenerator controlling the motor. Variations in the speed obtained from the control system are compensated by controlling the rotating standing field of the motor. The nominal value controller is connected to a speed regulator which amplifies the signals corresponding to speed changes and passes then to the control relay and its control circuit and the pole changeover. The control circuit acts as a trigger with bistable operation.
