PURPOSE:To prevent the coiling of the magnetic tape through a simple constitution, by giving the rotational force to the supply reel drive disk so as to pull the magnetic tape in the opposite direction to the tape travelling direction given by the capstan when the pause or temporary pause button is operated. CONSTITUTION:The transmission roller 9 to receive the rotational force via the shaft of the motor M is attached to the rotary lever 7 one end of which is attached by the shaft 8. Thus the rotating direction of the motor M is varied by the rotating direction of the roller 9. According to this variation, the lever 7 turns and as a result the roller 9 is pressed to the supply and take-up reel drive disks each by switching. In addition, the motor driving circuit is provided to give a rotational driving to the motor M in the opposite direction at least for a fixed time to the reproduction and quick winding modes and when the pause or temporary pause button is operated.
