<p>The method can be used for manufacturing side plating. The method of bending the metal sheet consists in heating and bending thereof with the use of gravity. The stage heating is done by means of high-frequency currents, whereas the sheet metal is preliminarily strained with bending moments directed towards the desired bent side. The device for implementing the method comprises a number of telescopic supporting posts (25 and 26). The telescopic supporting posts (25) are grouped in rows along both sides of the sheet to be bent, each of those posts carrying at its end a lever clamping head (34) for gripping the sheet edges and for applying a bending moment to it, whereas the telescopic supporting posts (26) are placed under the sheet and are used for lifting and supporting the sheet and for active control of bending process achieved by means of a point-type gauge formed by the upper ends of the posts and corresponding to the desired form of the bent sheet. </p> |
