<p>The thermostat valve is for a water radiator used for room heating, its movable plug being thrust evenly by an expanding element as for as the shut-off position. The element forms a room temp. detector or is connected by a capillary tube to a remote-mounted detector. The valve (10) has a frost-protection device with a detector (49) to be mounted on the radiator at a point where frost damage is liable to occur. This acts on a setting member (43,44,46) on the valve, so that when temp. at the detector falls below a set value it opens the valve, overriding the force exerted by the thermostat head (30).</p> |
