Control gate for hand brake valve - has safety tags to hold brake lever in set positions

The handbrake control gate lever has the underside of the gate slot fitted with safety tags (67) which limit the displacement of the lever into the normal braking position. Additional braking control is obtained by moving the lever axially and rotationally past the tags. The tags provide a simple safety interlock to prevent overbraking inadvertently. The handbrake lever is operated independent of the strength of the driver. The lever operates an eccentric cam which presses the control shaft for the pressure control.
