Sodium 8-chloro-theophyllinate as immunostimulant - which selectively stimulates formation of IGM antibodies

Pharmaceutical prepns. contain sodium 8-chlorothaphyllinate (I) and usual adjuvants and carriers. They pref. also contain a cephalosporin, esp. cefoxitin. In strengthens the body's immunological defence system by selectively stimulating the formation of IgM antibodies. The prepns. are partic. useful in the treatment of inflammations with cephalosporins (since they countract cephalosporin-induced immunosupression), for the treatment tumours, and for skin transplantations.
