The automatically switching calendar movement has a cylinder which rotates in daily steps of 1/7 or 1/14 turn to show the days of the week. There is a cylinder rotating in monthly steps of 1/12 turn to show the month all in accordance with known practice. The date of the month is shown by a drum with turn-over boards which rotates in daily steps of 1/31 turn which permits considerably larger numbers to be used than when employing a cylinder with numbers 1 to 31. The above movement may be combined with a dual differential drive mechanism.
