Insulating panels, for example for the heat insulation of the inside walls of rooms in buildings, are made of plastic, pref polyurethane, sprayed on an endless belt to produce a web with a plane or patterned surface. Surface skins on both sides form a boundary layer, one of which is bonded to the wall whilst the other receives a wallpaper unless it carries a surface pattern, for example simulating a brick wall. The boundary layers prevent damage to the insulating panel and wallpaper on it by contact e.g. with corners of furniture. Polyurethane is easy to cut and forms good bonds with walls or wallpaper.
|
