The valve has an inlet hole leading to a cavity inside the valve's casing and an outlet hole leading away from the cavity. A rotary valve element is located in the cavity and can rotate from a first into a second position to cause different valve effects. A positioning device with a motor is located inside the casing and rotates the rotary valve element from one position to the other, backwards and forwards. The positioning device also contains an end-stop arrangement to stop the valve element in the first and second positions. The rotary valve element has numerous channels of various sizes.
