Receiver for pulsed light signals of data transmission system - has opto-electronic converter feeding amplitude filter with threshold regulation

The receiving circuit for pulse-shaped light signals which is used in data transmission. It is capable of receiving uniform light pulses of very low or very high intensity, even when the noise level is high. It has an opto-electronic converter producing pulse voltages or pulse currents which are fed to an amplitude filter. The threshold of the amplitude filter is controlled by a voltage or current dependent on the interfering light. As the quantity of interfering light increases, the threshold value will also be increased. The opto-electronic converter consists of light sensitive diodes (7). The current flowing through the diode is used to control the threshold.
